Feast of the Rose and Rite
The Feast of Rose, the flower symbol of Rita and his native country, and all providing an intense meditation.

Corpus Domini - Historical/religious commemoration

The feast of Corpus Domini is celebrated with the creation of "infiorata."
The inhabitants gather in small groups to create sacred designs with petals
of flowers. The festival has ancient origins in 1263 a Bohemian priest,
Peter From Prague, passed through the town of Bolsena, stopped to celebrate
mass on the altar of St. Cristina. The priest was plagued by doubts, did
not believe that was possible the transformation of the wine and bread into
the body and blood of Christ. During the consecration was a miracle:from
consacreted host gushed blood. The event was communicated to the Pope who
resided in Orvieto and ordered that the vestments of priests were transferred
there. During transport of relics, the inhabitants of the countries, where
the procession was passing thought to pay tribute to Corpus Christi throwing
flower petals on the roads.
